The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has set the date of the long anticipated mop-up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to Friday, August 6, 2021.
The mop-up is for candidates who were unable to sit for the examination for some reasons
According to a JAMB official, Fabian Benjamin, about 18,000 candidates are going to sit for the examination and they have been notified through SMS as well as through their JAMB profiles. According to him, the examination, which will hold in selected locations nationwide, is going to be fully computer-based (CBT).
Mr. Benjamin also advises candidates who have already written their examinations to ignore the news going round that JAMB will reschedule another examination for them, tagging such news as fake.
The JAMB mop up examination is for the following categories of students:
- Candidates who couldn’t register either because they didn’t receive their profile code generation or because of delays with NIN registration.
- Those with biometric verification problem on the examination day, and could not write the examination for that effect.
- The ones who couldn’t write the examination because it fell on the same day as their NABTEB examination.
- Candidates who JAMB confirmed had technical problems on the day of examination.
